 Because of the color being wrong or the decal on the fork being backwards better prepare to kick yourselves. I received this bike today. It was offered to me as a third chance offer. the first guy did not want to pay the shipping to canada. So here it is.

I wasnt expecting much seeing it had been repainted, and an 86 but it looked mostly original.

Let me tell you this bike is cleannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn! 98% clean. The biggest fault with the whole bike maybe that it was repainted! PERIOD!

The dropouts? never moved clean all lines on the rear drops intact.

Front drops? perfect.

Chrome ? perfect.

Even the paint was perfect although you could tell it was redone. Paint was missing under the clamp from installation though.

Bars? perfect,

Forks? perfect, even had the fork pegs that someone sprayed black. shine as new!

the peregrine mags? greasy! but greasy is good that preserves the wheel. easy clean up to new!

I'm so pleased with this bike that i dont know what else to say. here it is as i took it out of the box. minus the parts. no cleaning or anything.

 

 

UPDATE PROJECT REDLINE

Here is a mock up of what the finished build will look like. That is new paint decals and done! I couldnt have gotten much luckier with this buy.

 

Added new suntour seatclamp and the correct new fake panaracer tires. Also has original Nos owners manual. Check those peregines....CLEEEEEEAAANNNNNN!!!

This will be an early spring resto so check back then. Another easy one for the eww2new crew!

-Stripped the frame using paint stripper and my thumbnail. I tryed to preserve the chrome under the 3 layers of paint. The original white finish was still under the yellow. Unfortunately the chrome wasnt as shiny as i wouldve liked it to be.

-scuffed -primed -painted -decaled -done! What a beauty. i almost don't want to build it. naaaaaaa I'm gonna build it

check out the bottom of the downtube decal, and back of seat tube. They line up perfectly! The way they should be now that's eww2new detail!

fresh out of piant all redone in hazard yellow with redline decals made by eww2new and painted by eww2new. Although an 86 i liked the yellow color and always wanted one. so now i have it. Building it is next

*special thanks to VBMX MEMBER G B* (name to stay super secret but he knows who he is) for the decal file to recreate the redline decals. Big help, not only were they the correct size, unlike the ones on the internet but they had every little piece recreated perfectly.

NOTE - THE SQUARES LOOK BLUE. WHEN ACTUALLY THEY ARE PURPLE.

next up.... THE BUILD!

 

ALSO THE NEW 2006 SPORT IS DONE AND LOOKING TOUGH! THE ORIGNAL 06' TEAM SPORT IS NO MORE THERE WAS ONLY ONE OF THOSE SO LOOK FOR THIS TO BE  A TOTALLY NEW DESIGN!
